2011 SIAP Election Result

SIAP Board of Directors Election for 2011 were held on December 16, 2010, 7:00 PM at Yahoo Center Community Room, 2500 Broadway St., Santa Monica, CA 90404.  SIAP Board of Directors Candidates were:

First SIAP President, Mr. Shahram Shokoufandeh, talked about election and SIAP activities for 2010.  Then board members candidates introduced themselves and their plans. The introduction followed by Ms. Goli Sabet, the vice president candidate, that she explained her view for 2011 and various programs to expand SIAP's future.  And Finally our new President elect Mr. Abdi Ziai  talked about his plan for his term and goals of SIAP to achieve in 2011.     Since this year was the first year that SIAP was electing 3 Inspectors to overview SIAP ByLaws and to communicate with Board of directors seamlessly, all 4 candidates got a change to clarify their roles and their plans.  Also as revised SIAP Bylaws, as of this year, Treasurer will serve as a 1 year term like other members.

After candidates' introduction and their presentation, voting paper distributed among present members and they cast their votes.  This year we also had 9 votes via email and fax for those who could not attend the election meeting.

Mr. Sharam Shokoufandeh serving two years as VP and President will retire.  Mr. Abdi Ziai will serve as President for 2011.  New Board of Directors will choose two among themselves as new secretary and Treasurer.  Mr. Abdi Ziai the new SIAP president will hold the first SIAP board meeting ASAP.
