The Following is the Minutes of SIAP Board of Directors meeting on 03/08/2007

Date: March 8, 2007
Location: Majid Falamaki office

Agenda:

• Norouz Party
• Education Committee Program
• Research Committee Program
• Publication Committee

Norouz:

Members tried to locate a new and pr0per place for this Year Noruz party.  Iran had suggested Schindler’s house, but it has some restriction about closing time and dancing area.  3 has talked to Iraj about Schindler’s house and 9 interjected some info- it will take up to 200 people, 10pm closing, music ok.  no dancing.  These are the places that members try to find out information ASAP:

1- CA Museum of Science
2- Getty Museum: call to get info., there is a good sponsor for this location
3- MOCA downtown
4- Scottish Theater
5- Olympic Collections

Education:

• Archicad 11 Introduction Seminar:  6/ 28/2007 at Colorado Center
• Archicad training Classes:  first class:  march 15^th at Colorado Center
• Licensing  will be every Tuesday at Colorado Center Starting march 13, 2007, free for Members, and there will be a $50.00 charge for Books & Materials (SIAP will pay for Books)

Research:

These are the research criteria that members will do work on this coming year:

• Multi Family Residential Housing development in Modern Architecture
• Pre-historical Arya migration and movements & as a result how the architecture has been affected.
• Pre-Pahlavi Old Tehran Architecture
• Introduction of 2-3 World famous Architects

Bijan will try to invite Tom Maine for his Sacramento Courthouse Design, Poorya Abbasi for recent News about LA Live going under construction, and Hariri & Hariri Architects for their recent Projects.

Publication:

Majid contacted some print shops and provided some bids for the coming SIAP magazine.  It will be published in the middle of this coming year.
