The Following is the Minutes of SIAP Board of Directors meeting on 12/07/2000

The following specific items were discussed or reviewed:

Previous Items:

7.1 SIAP News letter; PAYEH
Iraj as the chief editor will publish Payeh, the second issue, before end of January 2001 in a newsletter formats.
Selling advertising for Payeh 2nd issue was discussed in the meeting and Mr. Esfandiary & Vaghei will follow up ($300 full page and $50 BC size ad- members will pay $25. Full color back page ad will be $700.)

8.4 METRO Field Trip
It was suggested to add Los Angeles Downtown field trip to Metro Trip. Mr. Moayery will contact his lead: Mr. Aziz Khanloo at LA Metro.

11.1 Up-coming events and SIAP calendar

13.1 Media Advertising to reach out to related Professionals
Board decided to advertise on TV and Radio regarding SIAP.ORG site and ask Architects, Planners, engineers, etc to contact SIAP.org and send their e-mails and eventually become new members.

13.2 Media Advertising Budget
Board allocated $300 to spend on Media advertising till the end of Jan 2001 for introducing SIAP.ORG and reporting Election 2001 held Jan 25, 2001..

13.3 Architectural Exhibition: 2001 in Rome, Italy
Mohammad Borghei reported that he represented SIAP in his visit to IRAN and contacted authorities in Iran including Parviz Kalantari, head of the society of consulting Architects & Planners who supported the idea and directed him to Iranian highest authority in Art. He is scheduled to be in Toronto, Canada shortly and also visit San Francisco on first week of this December. Therefore, Board asked Mr. Borghei to stay in touch with him for further coordination and possibly arrange a meeting between him and the board.

In Iran, Mr. Borghei continued reporting, SIAP volunteered coordinating the exhibition activities among the Iranian Architects who reside outside of Iran. SIAP will arrange for their work to be presented in the Exhibition. Tentatively, board decided on participation of 20 Architects.

Board decided to promote an Architectural symposium in conjunction with the Exhibition and inform Architects in a timely manner to submit their papers.

13.4 Iranian architectural magazines subscription & advertising
Mr. Borghei presented one copy of Iranian Architecture magazine called " Me-mor". He reported 16,000 Tooman for yearly subscription. Board decided to subscribe for 10 issues and M. Falamaki will go to Iran and purchase the subscription.

14.1 Monthly meeting:
Board decided that SIAP be prepared in the meeting; in a more professional fashion by taking the following actions:

14.3 Business Networking Meeting:
Competition among the SIAP members raised some concerns. Mohammad Moayery suggested not worrying about this for now since parties in the same category did not yet show interest. In addition, Architects are practicing in different fields. General discussion and other ideas were presented but no decision was reached due to time. Mohammad Moayery will follow and keep board updated of further development. Mr. Moayery will follow up if this networking would be applicable and useful to our organization.

New Items:

15.1 Election Committee
Dec. 18th in Mr. Vaghei’s office there would be an additional meeting to start working on election committee and at the same time plan for Nowruz P.arty committee

15.2 Membership fees:
Mr. Moayery will ask his office secretary to send 2 letters to each SIAP member for collecting Year 2001 membership dues. He will be reimbursed for his expenses.
