Mohammad Borghei reported that he represented SIAP in his visit to IRAN and
contacted authorities in Iran including Parviz Kalantari, head of the society of
consulting Architects & Planners who supported the idea and directed him to
Iranian highest authority in Art. He is scheduled to be in Toronto, Canada
shortly and also visit San Francisco on first week of this December. Therefore,

possibly arrange a meeting between him and the board.
In Iran, Mr. Borghei continued reporting, SIAP volunteered coordinating the
exhibition activities among the Iranian Architects who reside outside of Iran.

New Items:
14.1 Monthly meeting:
Board decided that SIAP be prepared in the meeting; in a more professional
fashion by taking the following actions:
Have several large-scale SIAP logos at the meetings.
Promote inviting the guests to join and have membership applications available.
14.2 Next meeting:
The topic is " Sustainable Architecture". Mohammad Gharachedaghi
is the keynote speaker who informed us that he will be accompanied by one
speaker not two as was reported earlier. Mohammad Borghei will contact him by
Nov. 25,2000 to get the information SIAP needs for the invitation flyer.
Discussion about a decent Farsi equivalent for the topic continued without
conclusion. Board asked everyone to share their thoughts with Mark Vaghei who
will prepare the flyer by Wed. Nov. 22, 2000 and send it to Iraj for
distribution.
14.3 Business Networking Meeting:
Mohammad Moayery reported that 15 people, including his 3 guests, were
present on Nov. 16, 2000 meeting. He continued that the idea got some attention
and only 3 members showed interest to participate. Mohammad Moayery elaborated
on the idea for the board and presented Networking among the members
based on Word-of-Mouth marketing technique. The goal is generating
quality business referrals among the dissimilar professions.
Competition among the SIAP members raised some concerns. Mohammad Moayery
suggested not worrying about this for now since parties in the same category did
not yet show interest. In addition, Architects are practicing in different
fields. General discussion and other ideas were presented but no decision was
reached due to time. Mohammad Moayery will follow and keep board updated of
further development.
