The Following is the Minutes of SIAP Board of Directors meeting of on 10/19/2000

The following specific items were discussed or reviewed:

• Iraj as the chief editor contacted members of his committee and called a meeting on October 19th. He reported that material was typed up and ready. (Meeting arranged)
• Iraj set a deadline for publishing before end of year 2000.
• Selling advertising for Payeh 2 nd issue was discussed in the meeting and Mr. Esfandiary & Vaghei will follow up ($300 full page and $50 BC size ad- members will pay $25. Full color back page ad will be $700.)

8.4 METRO Field Trip
Mohammad Moayery proposed an event to include a field trip to LA Metro. Mohammad Moayery to follow up.

9.1 Membership for 2000
Mohammad Moayery presented list of 19 members who have not yet paid for 2000 membership. Board decided to follow up W/ members for payment as per below list.
M. Borghei with the members listed under # 1, 11, 14, 15, 19
Mohammad Moayery with the members listed under # 3, 6, 8, 12, 17, 4
Mark Vaghei with the members listed under # 2, 16, 18
Iraj the rest of 19 people on the list. (Closed)

9.2 Art & SIAP
Involve other fields of Art in lectures & events. (Closed)

9.3 SIAP to Provide Architectural Services
Board discussed to promote membership by advertising SIAP as an Architectural Entity that will promise Architectural services. We need to distribute questionnaire among members to compile information. (Closed)

9.4 Reach Out for the Related Professions
Setting an event where all of the construction representation has a table to present their product. Mark Vaghei to prepare a plan and feasibility study for the next board meeting. (Closed)

11.1 Up-coming events and SIAP calendar

• Oct. 26^th Architecture: 2 film documentaries ( Canceled)
• Nov. 30^th Sustainable Architecture, Speakers: Mr. Gharachedaghi & 2 from City of LA planning Department.
• Dec. 07^th Year 2001 Elections / Norouz committee starts work
• Jan. 25^th Building materials Expo. Featuring Lighting, Waterproofing, Tile and Stone, etc.

11.2 Mohandes Seyhoun was in Los Angeles, Oct.15-19
Board arranged a dinner gathering of 34 people in Olympic Collection on Tuesday October 17th. Event committee collected $960 from guests and paid almost the same amount for catering and location. (Closed)

11.3 SIAP web site
Majid Falamaki has updated SIAP.ORG and will continue to add additional information regarding:

1. Members' names and pictures
2. Members' pages to present their works
3. Lists of alumni of various schools of architecture

13.1 Media Advertising to reach out to related Professionals
Board decided to advertise on TV and Radio regarding SIAP.ORG site and ask Architects, Planners, engineers, etc to contact SIAP.org and send their e-mails and eventually become new members.

13.2 Media Advertising Buget
Board allocated $500 to spend on Media advertising till the end of Dec 2000 for introducing SIAP.ORG and promote it to Iranian society.

13.3 Architectural Exhibition : 2001 in Rome, Italy
Mr. Borghei knows a gallery owner in Rome and there is a possibility to organize an architectural exhibition to be held next year in Italy. This organization with the help of Iranian Museums has thrown some Art exhibitions before and has the potential to manage and organize SIAP architectural exhibition/symposium as well. Board will invite Iranian architects throughout the world to submit their works and select a variety of projects for the exhibition. Mr. Borghei will travel to Iran in the first 2 weeks of November and will discuss these issues with officials of Iranian Museums. Upon their commitment SIAP will select a committee to start the pre-production of the exhibition. It was discussed to have the exhibition for Fall 2001.

13.4 Iranian architectural magazines subscription & advertising
During Mr. Borghei’s trip to Iran, he will subscribe SIAP to some Iranian architectural magazines and will submit SIAP artwork for advertising on those magazines. $200 budget allocated for this purpose.
