Agenda
Members’
proposals for year 2007
The following items
were discussed:
Armandpour proposed:
1.2 Extend the one-year Term Of Office to two years.
Esfandiari proposed:
1.3 I see the problems of SIAP in lack of leadership with a clear vision. SIAP is an organization and it needs an organizing body. Since the beginning of this organization in fear of not becoming another SHORAKA-GHARACHEDAGHI FOUNDATION the board of directors has been viewed as an executive body for implementing the members' directives. But in the absence of the members, caused by dissatisfaction, there is no directive. Therefore the executive body becomes ineffective.
To solve the problems I suggest strengthening the position of the president by giving it more authorities and more responsibilities. Therefore the following changes in SIAP by-laws are proposed:
a- To remove the vice president position and elect a president for a two-year term.
b- The elected president introduces the members of her-his team of four cooperators to SIAP assembly of the members for approval.
c- No member who has taken the position of SIAP president before should be elected to that position again, as long as there are members who have not been SIAP president before and want to be the president.
d- In the process of the election the prior importance should be given to the proposed programs by the nominees and the team with the best program should have the chance of leading SIAP. Therefore each nominated team should have its fully detailed two-year program written and submitted to SIAP members two weeks prior to the election day.
Armandpour:
2.1 Engage Max. effort in becoming affiliated with AIA & ARA (Society Of American Registered Architects).
2.2 Allow board members to select their team (who may or may not be SIAP members), subject to Board approval, for their committee activities.
2.3 Each board member to commit to at least one Sponsor for the calendar year.
2.4 Reactivate Competition program to promote SIAP among public & attract younger generation to join & participate in the Program.

2.6 Secretary & Treasurer to be responsible to collect all membership dues by the end of March.
2.7 Monthly events to be conducted by one-person or two-person group and announce it at least 60 days prior to presentation. Board to prepare the invitations 21 days prior to the presentation date & mailing to be completed at least 14 days in advance.
