WEBSITE COMMITTEE REPORT
The website committee met on 1-14-03.

Present:
Majid Falamaki
Farshad Azarnoosh
Houshang Borghei

The following topics were discussed:

1. Current status of the SIAP site, what it offers to the organization, the members, and the public.
2. Various ways to improve the site.
3. Increasing the site traffic.

After analyzing various options, the committee is recommending the following short-term recommendations be implemented.

1. Faster posting of the organization activities, such as special events, and minutes of the board meetings.
2. Posting of a front page article on a regular basis, perhaps once a month. This requires one of the members to volunteer to take this responsibility and submit an article to Majid.
3. Establish links to other sites, such as architectural schools and other architectural and art oriented organizations. Majid has volunteered to this.
4. Encourage all members to have a web page on the site. This would enrich the site, help increase the traffic, and would be an incentive for consultants and contractors to advertise on our site.
5. Increase paid advertisement by consultants, contractors, and other building related industries through media advertisement.
6. Provide architectural details on the site. This also needs volunteers.
7. Posting of Payeh articles in Farsi.

CONCLUSION

Thanks to the members who were active in the website committee, especially the efforts of Majid Falamaki, the organization has a respectable, interesting, and viable website.

Obviously, there is room for improvement. However, the site is not used to its present potential. Majid is willing to maintain the site and help members with their web pages. Members should take advantage of this opportunity to advance their firm’s as well as the organization’s goals.

Continued participation of all members is essential in having a viable site.
