The Following is the Minutes of SIAP Board of Directors meeting of on 2/09/2006

Date: February 9, 2006
Location: Colorado Community Room

Agenda
1- Nowruz Party Preparations
2- Vitalizing SIAP Committees
3- Discussion about Various Architectural types during future general meetings
4- Educational classes for Autocad, Archicad.
5- Membership collection

Election:
Rosy elected as treasurer for 2 year term and Majid will act as Secretary.

The following items were discussed:

1-Membership:
David to follow up on collecting membership and transfer fund to Rosy.. Majid to get mailbox key from Sima for checking SIAP mail.
Bijan suggest to pursue younger Iranian architects to join SIAP and become more active in future.  He also recommends that members to use SIAP title as a designation in their cards or letterheads.

2-Nowruz Party:
Tentatively to be held on 3/25/06 , 4/1/06, or 4/8/06.  Naraghi recommends to have a joint party with some other cultural group and to be held in convention center. Other members thinks the time is so short and it is better to be organized by SIAP and if some other group wants to join, they can join at any time during the arrangement.  The decision went by having a Party at the same place last year and check for availability.

SIAP annual election is too close to Nowruz and there is always this limitation of time for preparation.  It was recommended that either change the election time or the previous board members being responsible for Nowruz Party.

3-SIAP Committees:
In order to vitalize SIAP committees, every person become in charge of different committees and they are responsible to bring their plan for the coming year in the next meeting.  the head of the committees are as followings:
Publication Committee: Iraj
Research Committee: Sharam
Event Committee: Bijan
Education Committee: Hashem
Membership Committee: David

Majid suggests to have a monthly reports from different committees regarding their activities.

4- Advertisements:
To advertise in Iranian media for Technical class held by SIAP for Autocad and Archicad.  Shahram suggests to find a closer relationship with other media to expose SIAP to them and have a broader view among non-Iranian societies.
