The following are the minutes of the SIAP Board of Director’s meeting:

Date: 9-04-03 7:00 PM

Location: MGM Community Room, Los Angeles

Present:
1- Mohammad Gharavi
2- Ashraf Hemmati
3- Mohammad Reza Borghei
4- Farshad Azarnoosh
5- Houshang (Mohammad) Borghei
6- Hashem Modjarrab

Agenda:
1- Rules for the Board meetings.
2- Forum

Rule of the Board meetings:
Following topics were discussed:
1- Date and place of the Board meetings.
2- Agenda:
a) Unfinished business
b) New business
3- Procedure to conduct meetings:
a) Chairperson position
b) Allocation of time per topic of agenda
c) Verification of the previous minutes
4- Voting procedure:
a) Proposal for motion
b) Second (motion has to be seconded in order to be voted on)
c) Vote
5- Quorum
6- Discipline of the meeting:
a) Respect the time limit
b) No interruptions
c) Speakers shall ask for time and wait their turn.
d) The Chairperson shall enforce the rules of the Board.
e) In case of a participant's misconduct, the following actions shall be enforced:
I) Reminder
II) Warning
III) Dismissal
IV) In the event that the above remedies are not effective, the meeting shall be terminated.
7- All members can participate in the Board meeting. The non-Board-members can speak with the consent of the chairperson. However, they will not be able to vote.
8- All rules of the meeting shall apply to the non-members.
9- The agenda for the next Board meeting to be established at the end of the meeting, subject to alteration by the president and other members as the need arises.

The following decisions were made:
1- Board meeting to be scheduled once a month on the first Thursday of every month.
2- These dates shall be scheduled in advance and shall be posted on the website.
3- Any other Board meetings if necessary shall be on emergency basis.

Due to the termination of time, discussion and decision on this topic was postponed to the next Board meeting.

Forum:
Hashem shall prepare a proposal for future forums including their budget.

Next meeting is scheduled October 3, 2003 at 7:00 pm
